July - We Had Some Moments!

So July was primarily about relaxing after our busy May and June. We did manage to throw in a few fun outings with Vince and we hit another milestone in his growth and development.

Vince had his first dentist appointment this month and he did not like it at all. Shoutouts to our dentist Dr. Shah at Academy Dental. She and her staff are awesome with adults and children. I’m very weary of dentists but Dr. Shah was very patient with Vincent and overall accommodating to our entire family. She used her normal child friendly techniques but in the end, he needed to sit in our laps as she checked his teeth and then proceeded to brush them. In the end, Vincy was able to pick his own neon orange toothbrush but he seemed more glad to be over and done with the process lol.

What struck me on a greater note was that when it was my turn to have work done, Vincy was so concerned for his mommy. I couldn’t see anything but according to Andy and the staff, he kept looking at me to make sure I was okay and then eventually decided I couldn’t possibly be okay and burst into tears. I. Felt. Awful. We initially didn’t have him in the room for my work but he was fussing so much in the waiting room that we decided if he was closer to me it might help some. Now we know otherwise.

Seeing how protective and caring he is over me did melt my heart though. I was a ball of mixed emotions for sure. Sons and their mothers right?

We had a few birthdays - my mom, little cousin Milly and Vincent’s god sister Jade all had birthdays this month. So we made a couple trips to Brooklyn and Queens to celebrate with them. There was lots of cake, family time and Vincy had a ton of fun at Land O Fun in Brooklyn, a nicely put together indoor kids play zone. (The prizes were however unreasonably priced and the food wasn’t great at all) We sure did order Popeyes loll

This month, we had our first family photo shoot for VMJ as we showcased our Mofoking Cool t-shirts courtesy of Vincy’s godfather, Oniel.

We unfortunately had a deaths in the family as well. Sleep In Peace to Andy’s cousins. The entire family mourns from all around the globe. This will never get easier and time after time, these murders become more and more senseless.
