Countdown to Vincey’s 1st Birthday!

We have been MIA for a little bit battling a cold. It all started out with one person and then slowly hit each person in the family smh lol. Between this topsy turvy NY/NJ weather and the way germs spread, it has been quite a few weeks! We're all doing much better now though and we are 14 days away from celebrating 1 entire year of Vincey’s life! I’m still sitting here thinking wow! That first year went by like lightning.

I started thinking up ideas for his birthday officially around October/November. I had been quietly assessing what he likes and enjoys. His favorite colors and trying to figure out how to incorporate it into an awesome first birthday for him. Everyone always says the first birthday party is really for the parents and family and I can absolutely see how as I go through this planning process. BUT I hope when he looks back on his pictures, he can see the effort, love and happiness that we expect to shine brightly on that day.

For those of you who have children, how do you go about this party planning process? Especially for these younger birthdays, like the 1st through 5th. I have a few good friends and family members who plan events often and love it. A lot of what I know, I’ve learned from them but I am still open to learning more.

I’d love to hear what you do to prepare, execute and then recover from these children’s parties. Any hints or tips are helpful!
