COMING FROM WHERE I AM FROM
Born and raised on a small Caribbean island, a nation known as Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, in a village called Sion Hill Walvaroo. Saint Vincent & the Grenadines (SVG) aka Vincy is know as "land of the blessed" amongst its fellow Caribbean nations. Sion Hill is known for it's rich culture in sports, academics and music. Being well versed in any of these, especially sports wont come as a surprised to anyone. We are small but we are very proud, with enough talent and intellect to rival any nation. Our fun and go lucky nature is why we are called land of the blessed, no matter what we overcome. Like most Caribbean islands, Soca is our main genre of music. We’ve produced artists like Kevin Lyttle with his hit called "Turn me on" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GP3Exc5tCtc that took the world by storm. Other Soca artists hailing form Saint Vincent: Skinny Fabulous, Fire Man Hooper and my good friend Zolah. Not to mention legends like: Alston Becket Cyrus, Winston Soso and Poorsah. The people there are as beautiful as the land that they inhabit and the culture as rich as the food and drinks. http://www.gov.vc/

PERSONALITY CAN BE PERSPECTIVE
I was never the smartest guy in the room; neither was I the tallest, fastest or strongest, but I was the guy who you never bet against. That's because I never bet against myself. No matter what the odds are. No matter how much people tell me I can't. Now that doesn't mean that I'm not fully aware of the fact that being too confident can make you arrogant and arrogance leans to failure.
As I look back on my life thus far, I can see the change in my personality that's further confirmed by others perception of me, depending on where and what stage in my life they met me. Some saw me as the person to not say much about anything. Others knew me as the guy who doesn't shut up. Some might see personality changes as being "fake". The truth is " Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change" - Steven Hawkins.
I can be on my block and hang with the thugs and be respected even if me myself isn't doing anything thuggish. At the same time, I can also be in a three piece suit conducting a meeting. But no matter what or where I was, I was seen as a leader before I was seen as a follower. I demand my respect as much as I would give it.
WHAT DRIVES ME
It's simple I like winning. No matter what it is, that feeling of accomplishment is like a drug that I just can’t get enough of.
I bore witness to a lot of pain and loss and I had my own share of it myself. To be hungry for success, is to know what it is to be starved of it. Track and field was the main path that I took and it really stuck to me when I skipped school to watch my older brother participate in in our national interschool sports and man, he killed it. It was the 4x400m relay and his team was behind. Most would have given up but not him. He took down everyone that was in his way and the crowd went crazy, they almost tore the stadium down. I wanted that. I wanted to win. So I took my natural talent for running and trained twice a day. I changed my diet and read all that I could to reach the level I wanted. I went from being good to great in my last year of high school, after being diagnosed with a heart condition. I broke multiple track records in one track meet that still sits there to this day. As good at that felt my goal wasn't school sports nor interschool sports that I dominated in and named senior champion, no it was the Olympic Games. It took a lot of losses and wins, hard work and determination as well as overcoming injuries and politics to get there.
HOW CHANGE AFFECTED ME
A car accident in Canada leading up to the Olympic games would change the course of my life forever. It was one that almost left me paralyzed but I still wanted to compete. Against doctors orders I went ahead and ran the 800m because I had come too far not to. I had worked too hard for this and it cost me an embarrassing loss and my track career. My family wanted me to move to the United States and I left my career, my friends and a healthy relationship behind to see what else life had to offer beyond track and a small island. My high school teacher once said to me "Andy if you only apply that same hard work to life you will become great man". So far, it has been a struggle to achieve the same level of success and happiness that I had back home in my home island. I had to learn the hard way that life here in the US, isn't what I'm used to back home. After being let down by family and friends I quickly learned that who you have around you and your mental state plays a large role in your quality of life. I changed my way of thinking and left anybody negative out of my life, the result? A healthy relationship with my wife Candice and amazing son Vincent, my own business and a drive and plan to not just be individually great but to affect others in a positive way.
